The Art of Science

Here’s where fantasy meets science

Can you imagine constructing a small robot with any material that you find around you?

The Art of Science celebrates the use of basic science principles to kickstart creations of your own! From vibrobots to robo-cups, you will experiment with various found materials and generate amazing ideas! Learn the basics of electronics and the concepts of force and friction to create movement. While they use simple and ordinary tools, the design possibilities are endless. The result is pure delight and possibly a lifetime of inventions using everyday materials!

Special Features

·        Vibrobots or buzzbots use a vibrating motor and recycled materials to create inventive creatures. Bringing science and nature together with materials like sticks, leaves and flowers, participants will create their own “bugbots” and write stories around them!

·         After exploring the nearby neighbourhood through a curated nature walk, participants will create a relief print using natural materials like leaves and flowers and create a unique artwork.

·         Using the concept of gray scaling and perspectives, participants create their own shadow box as they weave a visual imagery of a scene from their favourite stories using card paper, paints, shoe box and LED lights.

·         A mobile is a type of kinetic sculpture constructed to take advantage of the principle of equilibrium. This intersection of motion and art creates an ensemble of balanced parts that hangs freely in space. Participants will create kinetic art as they use various found materials.
