Pomegranate's Shot Stories

Video is art, video is story, video is expression. With the video format taking over the world wide web by storm and technology becoming as user friendly as it is,  its no exaggeration to claim that video today is akin to paper and pen!

Like with all mediums though, what is crucial is the story! How well you can convey what you wish to - be it a live action clip shot on a street, or a piece of video art that you generate on a subject of interest be it your business offering or interests like fashion, food, handmade craft, art, science or just about anything else!

Think back to the most powerful video you last saw online - was it that time lapse clip on a beautiful scene coming to life in embroidery or a slow motion shot of a dress twirling as you shoot your clothes for your next Instagram video or a sun-lit close up of your child laughing as you shoot your next video for your parenting blog.

Its all about how well you tell the story in a couple of minutes! Its an art that requires continuous honing and practice but its important to make a start and thats what Pomegranate's Shot Stories is about!

The next time you wish you could pack in a punch to tell a story better whether its online, on social media or whilst making an impactful presentation to a potential customer or to sell your business offerings online or in person, video could well be the answer and its about time you learnt how!

This three weekend module will comprise:

1. Participants sending in at least 3 concepts in writing to the facilitator a week before the course begins. The facilitator will finalize one concept for each participant.

2. Each participant to carry a cell phone with video shooting capability to class

3. Classes over the first weekend will include viewing a lot of video, scripting one's own video and receiving feedback from the facilitator

4. In the week participants will finish shooting their video in their own time

5. Participants return to class with their video footage on the following weekend and receive and share feedback. Participants go through an editing tutorial using their own cellphones (they will be told which editing application they need to download on the phone)

6. In week two participants shoot their final film incorporating all feedback and edit the same and bring the final film to class on Saturday and receive feedback
